India’s Ministry of Finance, through the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, has issued a new notification that amends the tariff values for several key imported goods. This notification, which is effective as of August 30, 2025, replaces the previous tables with updated values for various products. The changes are made under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962.

The notification outlines specific changes across three tables. Table-1 updates the tariff values for various oils, including crude palm oil, refined bleached and deodorized (RBD) palm oil, and crude soybean oil, as well as brass scrap. Table-2 details new tariff values for gold and silver, including gold bars, gold coins, and silver in various forms, such as medallions and coins. Lastly, Table-3 updates the tariff value for areca nuts. These revisions are a standard periodic adjustment to align the valuation of these goods with current market conditions for customs purposes.
