CBI Arrests a Superintendent of central Excise in an on-going Investigation of a Case Relating to Theft of Gold from Custom’s Go down at IGI Airport
The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Superintendent of Central Excise at Kundli Division, Sonipat Commissioner ate (Haryana), earlier posted as Custodian of the valuable Go down of Customs, IGI Airport, New Delhi in an on-going investigation of a case relating to theft of gold from Custom’s Go down.
A case was registered U/s 409 and 120-B of IPC on 17.03.2017 on transfer of FIR from Delhi Police. The case pertains to alleged theft of gold from the Valuable Go downs of Customs at IGI Airport. It was further alleged that in all, about 100 kg of Gold has so far been found to have been pilfered/ stolen and replaced with non-precious metal in the go down of customs. The said accused was posted as Custodian of the Valuable Go down of Customs during 2002- 03 & 2004. Searches were conducted at his residential premises in Delhi.
The arrested accused was produced before the Designated Court at New Delhi and presently in Police Custody till 28.05.2017.
