Sub: (a) Issuance of Electronic Policies and (b) Dispensing with physical documents and wet signature on the proposal form
This has reference to IRDAI circular Ref: IRDA/NL/CIR/MISC/237/09/2020 dated 10th September 2020 on the above subject. The exemptions granted for issuance of electronic policies as well as dispensing with physical document and wet signature have been extended upto the period 30/09/2021.
All other contents of the circular remain unaltered.

Re: Extension of timelines on (a) Issuance of Electronic Policies and (b) dispensing with physical documents and wet signature on the proposal form in respect of health insurance policies
1. Reference is invited to the guidelines Ref: IRDAI/HLT/REG/CIR/235/09/20 dated 10.9.2020 on (a) Issuance of Electronic Policies and (b) dispensing with physical documents and wet signature on the proposal form in respect of health insurance policies permitting insurers issue electronic health insurance policies and dispensing of wet signature on proposal forms in respect of all health insurance policies up to 31.3.2021.
2. In partial modification of Clause No. 5 of the above referred guidelines dated 10.9.2020 insurers are allowed to issue electronic policies and dispense with physical documents and wet signature on the proposal forms as specified in the within referred guidelines up to 30.9.2021.
3. All other provisions of the above referred guidelines remain unchanged.
4. This has the approval of the competent authority.
