DIN Application for proposed Director / Designated Partner or Partner in Existing Company / LLP

DIN is a unique Identification Number allotted to an individual who is to be appointed as a Director / Designated Partner or Partner in an existing Company / LLP, upon making an Application is to be made in e-Form DIR-3.

DIN Form Details (E-Form DIR-3)

Details required to be mentioned in e-Form DIR-3 is per the documents i.e. Name, Father’s Name as per the PAN CARD. Address is filled as per the Address proof to be attached. Unique Mobile No and Mail id is also required to be mentioned. Details of Name, Father’s Name, Surname etc is verified through PAN No mentioned in the e-Form DIR-3.

eForm DIR-3 for allotment of DIN following ATTACHMENTS:

1) Attach the photograph of the applicant

2) Attach self attested copy of the Proof of Identity (PAN CARD copy)

3) Attach self attested Proof of Residence. (AADHAR CARD copy) OR DULY ATTESTED ADDRESS PROOF NOT OLDER THEN 2 MONTHS.

4) Attested copy of passport is mandatory as an identity proof in the case of foreign nationals.

5) Resolution of the Company / LLP for which applicant shall be appointed as Director / Designated Partner or Partner.

SIGNING OF FORM DIR-3 (DIN APPLICATION)

e-Form DIR-3 is required to be signed by the Applicant and also verified and signed by one of Director / Designated Partner of the existing Company / LLP.

NOTE IN CASE OF FOREIGN NATIONAL AS APPLICANT:

Details of a valid passport should be filled in form DIR-3 and same required to be attached to e-Form DIR-3. All supporting documents including photograph should be certified by the Indian Embassy or a notary in the home country of the applicant. If a foreign director has a valid multiple-entry Indian visa or Person of Indian Origin card or Overseas Citizen of India card, then the attestation could also be done by Public Notary / Gazetted Officer in India.

Rs. 500/- is payable.

FAQs on DIN Application

Q 1. If DIN application has been rejected. Can one apply for fresh DIN?

Ans. YES, one can apply for fresh DIN Application.

Q 2. Grounds for rejection of DIN Application ?

Ans.  A provisional DIN is approved only after scrutiny of the documents attached with the application. Some of the common mistakes committed by applicants and on account of which the DIN application gets rejected are as under

• The supporting documents are invalid or expired.
• The proof of identity submitted has not been issued by a Government Agency.
• The submitted application is a duplicate DIN application and already one application of that applicant is pending or approved.
• The submitted application does not have photograph affixed.
• The signatures are not appended to the prescribed place.
• The applicant’s name filled in application form does not match with the name in the enclosed evidence.
• Identification number entered in application does not match with the identity proof enclosed.
• If enclosed documents are not self attested.
