Subject: Release of Updated Background Material on GST

Dear Member,

As you may be aware, with a view to bring GST to its being at the earliest, Government has launched four GST Business Processes relating to Registrations, Payment, Refund and Returns for public deliberation and receiving inputs on the same.

The Indirect Taxes Committee of ICAI, with a view to update the members and other stakeholders at large about GST, has launched a Background Material on GST in 2014. The said material has now been revised and includes updated Standardized PPT on GST,  Report of Rajya Sabha Select Committee on GST, the GST business processes, extracts of 13th & 14th Finance Commission Report, Present state of GST reforms in India etc. It also acclaimed by Hon’ble Finance Minister, Chairman, Empowered Committee, and Chairperson, CBEC.  It is an all-inclusive material, which would provide an insight to the basic concepts of proposed GST regime.
