Public Notice No. 53/2004-09, issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on February 15, 2005, announces updates to the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. 2) for 2002-2007 under the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09. These updates include amendments, deletions, corrections, and additions to the Standard Input Output Norms (SION). The changes are categorized by sectors such as chemicals, engineering products, food products, and plastics. New entries have been added to the norms for chemicals (Sr. Nos. A-3497 to A-3518), engineering products (Sr. Nos. C-2010 to C-2013), and food products (Sr. No. E-118). Specific amendments include alterations to descriptions and quantities of both export and import items, covering a wide range of materials, including pharmaceutical intermediates, industrial chemicals, and raw materials for manufacturing. Notable deletions pertain to several norms under the plastics category. These changes aim to provide clarity and facilitate smoother trade processes. Full details, including specific amendments and new additions, are available in Annexures A-D of the notice.

In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09 and Paragraph 1.1 of Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1), the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments/deletions/corrections and additions in the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 2002-2007, as amended.
2. In the statement of Standard Input Output Norms as contained in the Handbook of Procedures, (Vol.2) 2002-2007, as amended, amendments/ corrections/ deletion at appropriate places as mentioned in Annexure “A” to this Public Notice are made.
3 In the statement of Standard Input Output Norms, following additions shall be made at appropriate places as mentioned below:-
