PUNE: Office of the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (CCI-T) has made special arrangements for acceptance of returns from assessees to handle the rush it is likely to witness during the current week. The last day for filing of returns for the assessment year 2010-11 is July 31 (Saturday). The CCI-T has set up special return receipt counters at all the Income Tax offices where taxpayers are assessed.
Separate counters have been opened for senior citizens and women taxpayers at all the offices where returns will be accepted between 10 am and 6 pm, a press release said.
The press release also clarified that returns will be accepted on July 31, though it is a Saturday and a non-working day for the department.
For any assistance in filing the return, the taxpayers can contact Milind Kulkarni (ITO Pune 26136237), D. S. Datar (ITO 24448666 ext 506 PMT Building Swargate), A. M. Godbole (ITO, Ward 7-3 tel: 25437195 Praptikar Sadan, Karve Road) and D. N. Godbole (2765 6754 ITO Pratyaksh Kar Bhavan, Akurdi), the release said.
