1. From January 1, 2012 only SHA-256 Hash Algorithm and 2048 bit RSA Key Digital Signature Certificates will be issued. 2. However, from 4th April 2011, Certifying Authorities should issue Digital Signature Certificates with SHA-256 Hash Algorithm & 2048 bit RSA Key, to any applicant who requests for the same. 3. All other Digital Signature Certificates issued during 4th April 2011 to 31st December 2011 will have a validity period of one year only. 4. All other stipulations made in the Interoperability Guidelines must be adhered to.

Government of India have announced the issue of 8.01 per cent ‘Postal Life Insurance Government of India Special Security 2021’ for Rs 4,000 crore (nominal) and 8.08 per cent ‘Postal Life Insurance Government of India Special Security 2023’ for Rs. 3,000 crore (nominal). The Special Securities are being issued at par to Directorate of Postal Life Insurance on March 31, 2011 (Thursday) to convert part of the frozen corpus of Post Office Life Insurance Fund (POLIF) and Rural Post Life Insurance Fund (RPOLIF).
Private provident fund trusts have enough surplus to be able to pay over 9.5 per cent interest on PF deposits, says an analysis by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation’s (EPFO). Some of the private PF trusts have sufficient funds to pay interest of up to 11.5 per cent on the retirement funds of their employees, the analysis said.

The Power Ministry is preparing to introduce energy labelling system for mobile phone chargers, as part of its efforts to promote energy conservation. “We are working on introducing star (energy) labelling system for mobile phone chargers. It will be voluntary (for the makers of chargers) in the beginning and later, we plan to make it mandatory,” a senior Power Ministry official said.
Non-submission of detailed contingency (DC) bills worth Rs 11,854 crore, defalcation and loss to the tune of Rs 407.97 crore up to March 2010 are among the highlights of the CAG report on Bihar finances for 2009-10. Talking to reporters, Principal Accountant General (Audit), Bihar, P Dinaraj said that of Rs 14,272 crore drawn on 58,423 abstract contingent (AC) bills, only 7,435 DC bills for Rs 2,418 crore were submitted to the Accountant General (A and E), Bihar, up to March 2009.
EXPORTS (including re-exports) : Exports during February, 2011 were valued at US $ 23597 million (Rs. 107215 crore) which was 49.7 per cent higher in Dollar terms (46.9 per cent higher in Rupee terms) than the level of US $ 15758 million (Rs. 73002 crore) during February, 2010. Cumulative value of exports for the period April-February 2010 -11 was US $ 208229 million (Rs 949278 crore) as against US $ 158497 million (Rs. 753384 crore) registering a growth of 31.4 per cent in Dollar terms and 26.0 per cent in Rupee terms over the same period last year.

The CBI today informed the Supreme Court that telecom companies – Swan Telecom and Loop Telecom – were used as front companies by established telecom players to get 2G spectrum illegally during the tenure of former Telecom Minister A Raja. The agency, which filed a status report in a sealed envelope before a bench of Justices G S Singhvi and A K Ganguly, said Raja will face charges of “cheating, forgery, and corruption”.
