Notification No. 3/2002-07 updates key provisions of the Export and Import Policy, 2002-07, effective 1st May 2002.
In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Export and Import Policy 2002-2007, as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part-II Section 3, Sub Section (ii) vide S.O. No. 349 E dated 31.3.2002, as amended from time to time and as per provisions at condition no. 3 of the Annexure to Notification no. 40/2002-Customs dated 12.4.2002, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby notifies the following arrangements
In exercise of the powers conferred under Para 2.4 of the Export and Import Policy, 2002-2007(incorporating amendments made upto 31st March,2002), the Director General of Foreign Trade has decided to release a quantity of 6.00 (Six) Lakhs M.T. of onions (all varieties other than Bangalore Rose onion and Krishnapuram onions) for export upto 31st March, 2003.
Attention is invited to licensing note no. 2 at the end of Chapter 12 of ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2002-2007. Import of the crude drugs listed at the aforementioned licensing note is free. The heading of the table, stating that import is subject to actual user condition, is an editing error. Thus, the same may be ignored.

However in respect of the following items , the exporter shall be required to give declaration with regard to technical characteristics, quality and specification in the shipping bill.
