Notification No. 19/2002-2007 adds BIS standards for clinical thermometers in the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2002-2007.

Public Notice No. 48/2002-07 amends export licensing processes, contact details, ISO certification agencies, and adds new procedures for Certificate of Origin issuance.
Notification No. 18/2002-2007 introduces amendments in the ITC(HS) Classification for imports, including used casks and barrels under Chapter 44.
In continuation of Public Notice No.19 dated 11th June,2001 and Public Notice No.25 dated 2nd July,2001 and in exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 and 2.29 of the Export and Import Policy, 2002-2007, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby designates following Inspection and Certification Agencies accredited by APEDA for the purpose of export of Agriculture Products as “ Organic Product.” An Agriculture product shall be allowed to be exported as “ Organic Product” if it is produced, processed or packed under a valid Organic Certificate issued by any of the undermentioned Inspection and Certification Agency. The Inspection and Certification Agencies as specified in Column 1 below shall be authorized for a period of time as may be allowed in their cases by the Accrediting Agency as specified in Column 2 below.
The last sentence of Para 6.16 (b) provides for destruction of goods with the permission of Customs authorities. In order to clarify that all kinds of obsolete goods could be destroyed, it is proposed to substitute 6.16 (b) as under on the lines of provisions contained in Customs Notification.

Reference is invited to Policy Circular No 14 dated 19.10.2001 which prescribed the procedure for the settlement of audit objections wherever the relevant policy provisions mandated the surrender of Special Import Licence (SIL) that is now defunct. In continuation of the aforesaid provision, some of the regional offices have sought the extension of the provision of PC 14 dated 19.10.2001 to all category of cases where the surrender of SIL was mandated for regularisation of the cases.
Para 8.37 of the Exim Policy 1997-2002 permitted replenishment of gold/silver/platinum in respect of exports made during that Policy period. On 31.3.2002 the new Policy for the period 2002-2007 was announced. In the new Policy the provisions as were available in paragraph 8.37 of the earlier Policy got discontinued. Accordingly a Public Notice No. 3/2002-2007 was issued on 31st March,2002 providing transitional arrangement in respect of exports made on or before 31.3.2002.
