Sub: Workload of current assessment – Reporting of – Proforma of MPR – Amendment of –

           Reference is invited to para 136 of the Minutes of the Commissioners’ Conference held from 9th to 11th May, 1976 wherein it was decided that the workload of current assessments should consist of cases in which returns were received voluntarily and those cases in which notices U/s. 139(2) were issued.

2.        In the light of the above decision, parts A(2)(a) “Current year’s Assessments” (Page 3) and A (3) (a) “Assessments completed U/s. 143(1)/144” (Page 6) of the existing proforma of Monthly Progress Report dealing with the workload of current assessments have been amended and its amended specimen are enclosed at Annexures A & B respectively. These revised proforma may please be brought to the notice of all the officers in your charge and adopted for the purposes of sending the Monthly Progress Report pertaining to the month of July, 1976 onwards.

3.        Since it is likely to take quite sometime before the printed forms of Monthly Progress Report in its revised specimen are available, sufficient number of copies of these proformae be got cyclostyled and supplied to all the officers in your charge.
