    @Ramesh
    Has anyone else had the same experience as he says !
    By the way, with the recently announced Inflation Index for the ‘previous year’ 2017, has any one tried to compute capital gains for a house property acquired before 1981 and sold /likely to be sold in the current fiscal ! To be precise, with the change of base year to 2001,how the indexation is done ?

    The author is requested to clarify , in the light of the apprehension as shared earlier herein .

    ISSUE OF PAN CARD CHANGE AFTER MARRIAGE ( FEMALE)
    probably, we may get some answer from you,
    After my retirement in year 2002, from my retirement sum quantum i recd from MNC, I gave some amount to my daughter as a gift and that all amount my Daughter kept only in FD in bank, and she regularly files her independent IT return , and paying income tax as applicable from interest she earned,’NOW SHE GOT MARRIED, and she prefers same FD to continue,
    I request for your advise, whether,
    01-
    can she can continue current pan no for some time ,as for some reason, she does not wish to continue this with her new surname ( after marriage)
    02
    OR
    can she gift total amount transferred to her mother’, her father and he brother-in their bank ac – all are filing regular IT returns and pay income tax as applicable & then immediately they also invest the amount in some lucrative MF, as per advice of financial adviser-so that dividend on it may not attract further .income tax as all dividends will be tax free- and it will remain for long period-say > 3 years- now even IT interest rates are also not attractive-toip of it- giving form G/H as applicable and attracting TDS as aplicable
    02
    OR
    she can continue her FD on old name and old PAN NO,for some time, say for 6 months and her husband can prepare new pan card with her new marriage surname as her name and her father name will be same.and her surname will be same
    03
    OR
    can she prepare new pan card with same number with her name, her father name, her surname ( as it is ) and add her husbands surname
    thanks
