No Extension of Date for Filing of Returns due by 30th September for Assessment Year 2015-16 for Certain Categories of Assessees Including Companies, and Firms and, Individuals Engaged in Proprietary Business/Profession etc whose Accounts are required to be Audited; Taxpayers are Advised to file their Returns Well in Time to Avoid Last Minute Rush

Income-tax returns for Assessment Year 2015-16 for certain categories of assessees viz companies, firms and individuals engaged in proprietary business/profession etc whose accounts are required to be audited, are to be filed by 30th September, 2015. The audit report is also required to be filed by the said date.

The Government has received representations from various stakeholders seeking extension of date for filing of returns and tax audit reports beyond 30th September 2015. The reasons cited are delay in notifying the returns and related delay in availability of forms on the e-filing website.

The matter has been considered. Income-Tax Returns Forms 3,4,5,6 and 7 which are used by the above mentioned categories of assessees were notified for Assessment Year 2015-16 on 29.07.2015. The forms were e-enabled and were available on the e-filing website of the Department from 7th August 2015 giving enough time for compliance. The changes made to these forms are not extensive as compared to the earlier years. Further taxpayers entering into either international transactions or specified domestic transactions are required to file their returns by 30th November 2015 only.

After consideration of all facts, it has been decided that the last date for filing of returns due by 30th September 2015 will not be extended. Taxpayers are advised to file their returns well in time to avoid last minute rush.

    Dear Finance Minister
If in your concern 60 Tax Audits could be completed in mere 2 months time instead of 6 months while taking care of other Statutory obligations and filings, then i am sure you must have completed your promises of 5 years tenure as it is already 1 year and 5 months for you in power. We must have got all our financial problems of the country solved by now. And India is economically equal to other countries like USA.
If not done by now, i am sorry to say you are a failed government.

  4. AMOL says:

why all of you need extension? After end of Financial year you have 6 months to finish Tax Audit. it shows your inability of working capacity. although the form came late, but you are will be ready with finalize data, which should be required only for uploading the return.

Govt is making CAs do half the work of ITOs with no pay. ITOs get very good salary and pension. CAs get no salary or retirement benefits from Govt for helping in tax compliance and collection – even TRPs get a commission. All the CA gets is fee from clients for which he has to report all the mistakes made by clients in Form 3CD – each point in the Form is meant to screw the client. Based on this Form, the client gets to pay more tax and penalty and sometimes face prosecution also. If the CA misses out something with which the client can be penalised, the CA is also penalised with disciplinary action that can ruin his career. In the next year the CA is back asking the client for his books for tax audit and the fees. Is there a more thankless work in the world than that of Indian CAs?

please extend the due date to 30th november 2015, as we have to go through the books of accounts and complete the audit with due diligence, and it is impossible to complete all the audits within the short time availble now.

The P M, F M, C B D T ~ i am a freelance accountant and like to state as under:: as an accountant apart from book keeping there are so many compliance under various statutes in the country. at times complying with all, on line, has its own time consumption. And as a group of companies one finds it, at times, difficult to cope up though not impossible. To meet the requirements of various statutory bodies is a must apart from day to day acitivity. And each one has its own deadlines. We are virtually living in a word of deadlines. To highlight the few : service tax 5th of month. TDS 7th of month, ESI and pF 15 & 20th of Month, P T 20th of Month, Vat 20th of Month every month. Apart from this there are various requirements to file the returns pertaining to it periodically on monthly or quarterly or half yearly or annually. Apart from that the labour departments, excise department etc., etc., compliance. The complainces of Bank. The list is long. Once in a way when the request is made, it is for natural justice. In fact, my suggestion is very simple :: For filing income tax returns, from closure of financial year, provide one years time to comply. End the dead line and penalties. We are partner’s in progress and government should take the interest of the working people too into consideration. Keep the deadlines to pay taxes short and give little leverage to comply with the reports and returns. Beyond due date for payment of taxes, levy 24% PA interest on short payments to act as deterrent as the Government too requires revenue. Hope this will find some say with the Government in common public interest. Thank you.

  15. RAJU says:

Please Extend Due Date For Filling tax Audit for A Y 2015-16 till dec 2015 for all Aseesee… it will be help to all assesee and tax collector consultant and CA

  16. RAVINDER says:

Govt will give extension till 30 Nov as in last year but only after ensuring that they can collect interest for the 2 months – again as in last year. If CBDT suo-moto gives extension they will lose this interest. I think CAs and clients should straightaway agree for 2 months’ interest and the problem will be solved.

CAs have no respect from the Govt. CBDT is making CAs do the work of ITOs for free – payment to be collected from the clients, whose faults have to be pointed out and penalised. CAs are themselves responsible for this mess – when they are asked to bend, they crawl
