We wish to inform you that the CBDT is in process of reviewing/revisiting the Citizen’s Charter 2014 which is due for review in 2017. The Citizen’s Charter 2014 containing a set of promises regarding delivery of services within the specified timelines was made operational as a part of Department’s commitment to the adoption of the philosophy of SEVOTTAM. It is a mechanism for achieving excellence in public service delivery and currently under implementation in the form of e-Nivaran.
In this regard, suggestions have been invited from ICAI for reviewing the Citizen’s Charter for improvement and/or extending the scope of Citizen’s Charter. The following relevant part of citizen’s charter 2014 document, can be downloaded from the website of the Income-tax department from the links mention hereunder:
