Dated: 14.03.2018
Dear Chief Commr,
You all are aware that during sessions of Parliament. the Parliamentary Questions (PQ.) — Lok Sabha / Raiya Sabha have to be answered by the Finance Minister, as and when required. Accordingly, data is required to be collected from the field formations of CBEC on urgent basis and data from pan India has to be consolidated at this end and draft reply has to be put up to GST Policy Wing for onward submission and approval of the answer to the PQ concerned.
2. However, lately it has been observed that the field formations have either provided incomplete data / information requiring repeated efforts from the Directorate to get the details, or has provided data / information after the time by which it was asked, resulting, in substantial delay in collating and analysis at our end. The delay / gap in response can be seen from the e — mail correspondences in the matter. Apparently, the level of urgency required to be given to the PQ’s is not found.
3. It is therefore requested that Parliamentary Questions may be given top most priority and hence, may be dealt urgently. Further, it is requested that you may bestow your personal attention to parliamentary affairs and ensure that Parliamentary Questions are replied to within the prescribed time limits.
With regards,
Yours Sincerely,
(Vinay Chhabra)
Principal Director General (DGGST)
To,
