Public Notice No. 33 (RE-00)/1997-2002, dated 15th September 2000, issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade, makes amendments to the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002. These changes are reflected in Appendix-28A of the Handbook (Vol.1). The export product description at Sl. No. 518 in the Engineering category is updated to specify “Carbon steel submerged arc welded pipes” and “hot-formed steel bends” with relevant standards (API grade/ASTM grade or equivalent). Additionally, the description of export products at Sl. No. 37 in the Chemical category is corrected to include formulations such as injections, syrups, tablets, and intravenous infusions for which specific DEPB rates apply. Furthermore, a corrigendum corrects the export product description at Sl. No. 475 in the Engineering group regarding iron castings.

PUBLIC NOTICE NO: 33 (RE-00)/1997-2002

NEW DELHI, 15th September , 2000

In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part-II-Section 3 – Sub- section (ii) vide S.O.No.283(E) dated 31.3.97, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendment in Handbook (Vol.1). (RE-00), 1997-2002.

1. The following amendments shall be made in the Appendix– 28A:

(i) The description of export product at Sl. No: 518 under Product Group: Engineering shall be amended to read as under:-

“Carbon steel submerged arc welded pipes as per API grade/ASTM grade or equivalent or hot formed steel bends as per API, ASTM grade or equivalent degree: 0-180 degree”

(ii) The description of export product at Sl. No: 37 under Product Group: Chemical shall be corrected to read as under:-

Formulations:-

(a) Injections

(b) Syrup/oral suspension

(c) Tablets/Capsules

(d) Intravenous infusions of bulk Drugs for which specific DEPB rates have been notified.

Note:- (a) This rate is applicable only for those formulations i.e.

injections/syrups/oral suspensions/tablets/capsules for which no specific DEPB rates have been notified.

(b) For the above formulations of two or more bulk drugs, the DEPB rate admissible will be as per Policy Circular No: 20 (RE-00)/2000-2001, dated 31.07.2000.

Corrigendum:-

(i) The description of export product at Sl. No: 475 of Product Group Engineering, as amended by Public Notice No: 27 dated the 3rd August, 2000 shall be corrected to read as under:-

“Spheroidal graphite/Grey/Malleable/Ductile iron casting (rough/machined)”
