Public Notice No. 19 (RE-2001)/1997-2002, dated 03/07/2000, issued by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, introduces amendments to the Standard Input Output Norms (SION) in the Handbook of Procedures for the 1997-2002 Export and Import Policy. These changes, as detailed in the annexures, include deletions, substitutions, and corrections for chemicals, engineering products, and miscellaneous items. Specific changes cover the addition of new entries for chemicals and engineering products, such as adjustments to the quantities of import items like toluene and benzaldehyde, and the inclusion of copper scrap in certain export products. These amendments aim to update and clarify the norms for better compliance with export-import procedures. The notice emphasizes that these modifications are made in public interest to streamline the implementation of the policy.

Attention is invited to Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, as amended and Paragraphs 7.8 and 7.10 of the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.1, 1997-2002, as amended and also to the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 1997-2002, as amended from time to time.
2. In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, as amended, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments/modifications and additions in the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 1997-2002, as amended.
3. In the statement of Standard Input Output Norms as contained in the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.2, 1997-2002, as amended, amendments/ corrections at appropriate places as mentioned in Annexure “A” to this Public Notice shall be made.
4. In the statement of Standard Input Output Norms, following additions shall be made at appropriate places as mentioned below:-
CHEMICALS AND ALLIED PRODUCTS
After the existing entry at Sr.No.A-2438, the new entries from Sr.No.A-2439 to A-2445 shall be added as per Annexure ”B” to this Public Notice.
ENGINEERING PRODUCTS
After the existing entry at Sr.No.C-1537, the new entries from Sr.No.C-1538 to C-1539 shall be added as per Annexure ”C” to this Public Notice.
MISCELLANEOUS PRODUCTS
After the existing entry at Sr.No. K-124, the new entries from Sr.No.K-125 to K-126 shall be added as per Annexure ”D” to this Public Notice.
