Public Notice No. 14(RE-00), issued on June 8, 2000, by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), updates the Duty Entitlement Passbook (DEPB) rates and value caps for specific chemical products under the Export and Import Policy 1997-2002. Two refrigerant products, Di-chloro Di-fluoro Methane (R-12 or CFC-12) and Monochloro Di-fluoro Methane (R-22 or HCFC-22), are added to the DEPB list with a rate of 9%. Additionally, value caps are introduced for a wide range of chemicals, including cotton and engineering products, specifying the maximum allowable value for DEPB entitlements per kilogram or per pair. A correction is also issued for a previous public notice concerning DEPB rates for engineering products. The notice further clarifies certain wording issues and ensures that the updates are in line with the Export and Import Policy guidelines.
