NEW DELHI: 8th of May, 1999

S.O (E) – In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 1.3 and 4.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items , 1997-2002 published on 31^st March, 1997 (RE-98) as amended from time to time, namely –

After amendment, the following will read as under:-

251511 00	Crude or roughly trimmed	Restricted	Not permitted to be imported except against a licence or in accordance with a Public Notice issued in this behalf.	Import permitted against Special Import Licence(SIL) provided C.I.F. value per metric tonne is US $ 300 and above.
251512 00	Merely cut,by sawing or otherwise, into blocks or slabs of a rectangular(including square) shape	Restricted	Not permitted to be imported except against a licence or in accordance with a Public Notice issued in this behalf.	Import permitted against Special Import Licence(SIL) provided C.I.F. value per metric tonne is (I) for Blocks US $ 300and above(ii) for Slabs US $450 and above
