The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has initiated a review of the Standard Input Output Norms (SIONs) for automobile tyres (A-1722, A-1717, A-1667, A-1666, A-1673, A-1665, A-1664, A-1663). All relevant exporters, trade bodies, and stakeholders using these SIONs are advised to review their applicability and propose modifications if needed.

Stakeholders must submit their suggestions along with detailed justifications, production and consumption data, and certified wastage norms from a Chartered Engineer. The deadline for submission is 45 days from the issuance of this Trade Notice (March 20, 2025). Feedback should be sent via email to nc7.dgft@gov.in for further evaluation by the DGFT.

This review aims to ensure the relevance and accuracy of existing SIONs in the automobile tyre industry.

Subject: Review the SIONs pertaining to Automobile tyres

This Directorate is initiating a process to review the existing SIONs of automobile tyres, (A-1722,A-1717,A-1667,A1666,A1673,A-1665,A1664,A-1663)

2. Therefore, all concerned EPCs, Exporters, Trade bodies and other stakeholders, who are availing the said SION s, are advised to examine their respective SION s as it exists today and provide necessary comments/suggestions on why ‘and how such SIONs require modification if any.

3. Suggestions for such modification of SION, if any, be accompanied by detailed justification, along with production and consumption data, wastage norms duly certified by Chartered engineer and other relevant documents.

4. The same may be sent within 45 days from the date of issuance of this Trade Notice to the email Id, nc7.dgft@gov.in, for further examination by this Directorate.
