NOTIFICATION No. 08 (RE-2004)/2004-09

NEW DELHI: Dated: 10th November, 2004

S.O. (E) In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2004-09.

2. The following import licensing note shall be added to Chapter 74 of the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2004-09:-

“(3) Copper and its products under Exim Code Nos. 7403.11, 7403.12, 7403.13, 7403.19, 7413.00 and 7408.11 may be imported into India from Sri Lanka under the ISFTA only through Nhavasheva, Chennai, Tuticorin, Cochin, ICD Tughlakabad (Dry Port), ICD Mulund (Dry Port) , ICD Ludhiana (Dry Port) and ICD Pithampur.”

3. The following import licensing note shall be added to Chapter 85 of the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2004-09:-

“(3) Articles made up of Copper under Exim Code Nos. 8544.11, 8544.19, 8544.49 and 8544.59 may be imported into India from Sri Lanka under the ISFTA only through Nhavasheva, Chennai, Tuticorin, Cochin, ICD Tughlakabad (Dry Port), ICD Mulund (Dry Port), ICD Ludhiana (Dry Port) and ICD Pithampur.”
