Notification No. 11/2003-Customs

WHEREAS the Central Government is satisfied that the import duty leviable on Garlic , falling under sub-heading 0703.20 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), should be increased and that circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action;

NOW, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 8A of the said Customs Tariff Act, the Central Government, hereby directs that the First Schedule of the said Customs Tariff Act shall be amended in the following manner, namely:-

In the First Schedule to the said Customs Tariff Act, in Section II, in Chapter 7, against sub-heading 0703.20 occurring in column (2), for the entry in column (4), the entry “100%” shall be substituted and for the entry in column (5), the entry “90%” shall be substituted.

2. This notification shall come into force on the 15th day of January, 2003.

Note:- The First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) was enacted on 18th August, 1975 and was last amended on 13th May, 2002 by the Finance Act, 2002 (20 of 2002).”.
