Dear Friends, as we all know from past few years the Government departments are collecting many information from each entity/NGOs, so that a reliable database can be maintained. In this step, Niti Aayog department has launched NGO Darpan portal to maintain a centralized database of NGOs working in India.
If you want to raise funding from Government departments then it is mandatory to get registration with NGO Darpan portal and after filing the form get there Darpan ID. Now, other departments are also giving recognition to Darpan ID generated from NGO Darpan. In the initial phase it is optional to mention Darpan ID while filing FCRA Registration Form.
In the newly introduced Form -10A for Getting registration under Section -80G and Section -12AB of Income Tax Act, 1961 they are asking about Darpan ID registration number and registration date. Q1 – We have recently registered our NGO, whether we are allowed to register under NGO Darpan?
Yes, you are allowed to register under NGO Darpan. There is no time limit prescribed. If you above valid PAN Card and registration certificate of NGO then you are allowed to register.
Q2- Whether there is any annual compliance, after NGO Darpan registration?
No, as such there is no annual compliance after NGO Darpan Registration, however, you have to update the latest governing body details as and when there is any change in it and has to update grant related information on annual basis.
Q3- Whether there is any renewal period under NGO Darpan Registration?
As on date, there is no renewal required, registration under NGO Darpan is one time process.
Q4- After registration under NGO Darpan, when I start receiving Grants from Government Departments?
Registration under NGO Darpan does not mean that you start receiving grants from Government department. After registration, you have to contact concerned Government department from where you want grants and has to quote the Unique ID generated from NGO Darpan. If you satisfied their criteria of giving grants, then you will receive grants from them.
Q5 – 2 Years back we have applied for NGO Darpan registration and Unique ID allotted to us, but by mistake we have forgot that Unique ID, now we want to apply again for NGO Darpan. It is possible to register again with Same PAN Number?
No, registration under NGO Darpan is PAN based and you can apply only once using same PAN Number. Duplicate registration is not allowed.
Q6- If our NGO receive any grants from Government department and due to some issues, they have blacklisted our NGO, whether it effects our Status on NGO Darpan Portal?
Yes, list of black listed NGO is separately maintained by NGO Darpan. If your NGO is blacklisted then your status has been shifted from active NGO to black listed NGO.
Q7- Our NGO is registered with NGO Darpan 2 years back, now we want to update Mail id and Mobile number for OTP Purpose. Is it possible to update Mail and Mobile Number?
Yes, it is possible to update Mail and Mobile.
