The Ministry of Law, Justice, and Company Affairs has constituted a committee to oversee the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF) as per Section 205C of the Companies Act, 1956. The committee, formed through a notification dated 11th November 1999, includes representatives such as T.S. Krishna Murthy as Chairman, Ms. Sucheta Dalai, N.S. Chopra, and members from organizations like the Reserve Bank of India and SEBI. The committee’s responsibilities include managing the IEPF, maintaining separate accounts, and ensuring compliance in consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. The members will serve a two-year term from the date of notification.

S.O. 1087 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (4) of section 205C of the Companies Act, 1956 (1 of 1956), the Central Government hereby constitutes a Committee consisting of the following persons to administer the Investor Education and Protection Fund and to maintain separate accounts and other relevant records in relation to that Fund in such form as may be prescribed in consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, namely :—
