WHO IS CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT?
Chartered Accountant is an international career field accredited by the ICAI i.e. Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The course provides with Auditing, Accounting, and Financial Management techniques and skills that open up career opportunities for those aspiring to work in the Business and Finance sector. A Chartered Accountant is a professional who analyzes the Risk Management aspect, maintains accounts as well as provides future financial advice.
WHO IS A COMPANY SECRETARY?
Company Secretary is among the principal aspects of a company and acts as a conscience seeker. Apart from managing taxes, a CS also ensures that the organization complies with the laws, statutory and non-statutory, efficiently. The ICSI i.e. Institute of Company Secretaries of India provides professional training to those who aspire to pursue a career in the financial and legal aspects of business firms. The course provides knowledge of handling legal aspects and managing the company’s brand image. A Company Secretary is responsible for completing the company’s tax returns, keep records, the advisory board of directors and members and ensure all the legal and statutory regulations.
What is the Difference Between CA and CS?

SUBJECTS OFFERED | CA course focuses on subjects like taxation, finance, banking, accounting, etc. These subjects include direct taxes, fundamentals, and basics of accounting, auditing and assurance, CAFM (cost accounting and financial management), etc. | CS course offers subjects that help aspirant become an expert in company law. These subjects in detail are tax laws, company law, general and commercial laws, economic labor and industrial laws, banking and insurance, etc. |
STEPS FOR BECOMING CA OR CS | An aspirant can become a CA by following the below-mentioned steps-
1. An applicant will have to get himself or herself registered with the ICAI. 2. An applicant will have to clear the CPT or the common proficiency test and will also need to pursue a full-time B.COM course (Bachelor Course). 3. An aspirant will need to qualify for the IPC (Integrated Professional Competence) Examination. 4. An aspirant will need to pursue an article-ship for 3 years under a CA firm. 5. An applicant will need to qualify for the CA Final exam. |
An aspirant can become a CS by following the below-mentioned steps-
1. An applicant will have to get himself or herself registered with the ICSI. 2. An applicant will have to clear the foundation exam. However, if an applicant is a graduate, then he or she may not need to sit for the foundation exam; that is, they can directly appear for the executive program. 3. An aspirant will need to clear the executive program. 4. An aspirant will need to clear the professional program |
