Shri Piyush Goyal
Hon’ble Minister for Commerce Government of India
New Delhi
Dear Shri Piyush Goyal Ji,
Subject Fast Track CCI Investigation of Amazon & Flipkart
In furtherance of the appeal for stay on investigation of both Amazon & Flipkart dismissed by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, we crave leave to request you to kindly direct the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to put investigation of both the Companies on fast track mode in order to ensure proper investigation in a time bound period.
It is apprehended that normal routine of investigation by CCI may take considerable time which may have enough opportunity to both the Companies to use different tactics to delay the investigation to defeat the very purpose of the investigation and in the meantime, these companies will continue with their mal-practices as usual much to the disadvantage to small traders and consumers of the Country. It will also give sufficient time to them to manage the records and tamper the evidence.
It is submitted that the matter is hanging fire for about two years when the matter was raised by the CAIT in September,2019. Further slow pace of the investigation will prove the dictum ” Justice Delayed Justice Denied”.
Therefore, we shall be grateful if you please direct the CCI to put the investigation on fast track mode under a defined time bound period to meet the end of justice.
Meanwhile, we also request your good self to take up the matter with Hon’ble Minister for Finance Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman to direct the Enforcement Directorate to speed up the investigation against both Amazon & Flipkart for violation of FEMA Act and rules.
We are sure that it will receive your kind attention and you will be pleased to take necessary actions.
Thank You. With kind regards Truly yours
Praveen Khandelwal
National Secretary General
