On 22nd September, when user log in the account on Income tax Website, then there was one information verification page which was mandatory to fill i.e. without filling this page, user cannot access his account. After, 3-4 days, this page become optional i.e. there was Skip button but page was shown there. Today, this page has been removed i.e. no information verification page is there. Relevant screenshot of today’s user account is as below:
In my personal view, after demonetization, Income tax Department is working on the data mining project. Using the data analytics, department will be able to identify the tax evaders. These changes are certainly the output of this activity of Income Tax Department. However, from user point of view as well as tax professional point of view, easy access to income tax website will save the time and cost. Lets wait for next change…..
