In case the customer does not or is not able to redeem the rewards points, within their validity period of 36 months from the date of issue, the reward points are forfeited by the applicant. Any registered person who issues a debit note in relation to a supply of goods or services or both, shall declare the details of such debit note in the return for the month during which such debit note has been issued and the tax liability shall be adjusted in such manners may be prescribed.
Under the GST regime, a tax invoice means the tax invoice referred to in section 31 of the CGST Act, 2017. For example, if a registered person is making or receiving supplies (from unregistered persons), then a tax invoice needs to be issued by such registered person.
