The RBI’s decision to withdraw circulars dated between 1995 and 2006 signifies a strategic move towards modernization and efficiency. By eliminating 8 obsolete instructions, the RBI aims to simplify regulatory processes, aligning them with contemporary banking practices.

Internal Review – Interim Recommendations – Withdrawal of Circulars
An internal review of regulations was carried out to remove obsolete/ outdated/ superfluous instructions, and to rationalize and simplify existing instructions.
2. In view of above, the circulars listed in the Annex are withdrawn with effect from close of business today.
