Income Tax Credit Statement 26AS – Advisory to Taxpayers
26AS statement contains information regarding Advance Tax, Self Assessment Tax, Regular Assessment Tax, TDS, TCS credits available to taxpayer for claim in ITR alongwith information on refund, high value transactions and TDS defaults.
Taxpayer may view/download Form No. 26AS by login into any of the following:
i. Online net banking account of taxpayer with any of the authorized bank;
ii. Income Tax e-filing website: www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
iii. TRACES website: www.tdscpc.gov.in (Links can also be accessed on: www.incometaxindia.gov.in)
In case of missing credits, check/ensure:
I. Correctness of PAN intimated to deductor;
II. Deductor has deposited the tax deducted at source;
III. Deductor has uploaded quarterly TDS/TCS Statement with correct PAN;
IV. If required, raise a grievance at “Taxpayer Grievance Module” on TRACES
26AS is good so far it goes OK. But when there is a mismatch nothing happens to assuage the assessee
