In this case, The Hon’ble Bombay High Court has granted an interim stay on an assessment order passed under the faceless assessment regime on the ground of not hearing and has further remarked that there are a lot of glitches in the operation of the faceless assessment scheme.
FULL TEXT OF THE HIGH COURT ORDER /JUDGEMENT
Issue notice to the Respondents returnable on 21.06.2021. Learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that impugned assessment order has been passed in stark violation of principles of natural justice and the Petitioner has not been heard at all in respect of the new additions. There are lot of glitches in operation of faceless assessment scheme. Petitioner’s interest is getting gravely hampered in the process. He refers to the order dated 05.04.2021 passed in W. P. No. 8945 of 2021 by this Court and urges for ad-interim relief.
2. Having regard to the aforesaid, operation and implementation of action, in furtherance of the assessment order dated 17.04.2021 be kept in abeyance till the next date.
3. Stand over to 21.06.2021. Mr. Walve, learned counsel for the Respondents waives service.
