The FTA plans to implement “Businesses VAT Refund Scheme” for Foreign Businesses who doesn’t have a Permanent Establishment in the UAE or any other implementing state and is not a Taxable Person. This may include Branch Offices, Representative Office, Liasioning office and marketing office etc.

The scheme will allow refund of Tax (claim amount to be more than AED 2,000) on expenses incurred in the State.

Foreign tour operators are not allowed to make a claim under this scheme.

Foreign Entity not entitled to claim refund if it makes supplies in the state except supplies on which recipient applies RCM or home country of entity doesn’t have reciprocal arrangement for state entities.

Foreign Entity to make claim in prescribed format with required detail for 12 calendar months.
