The Department of Posts, through SB Order No. 03/2026 dated April 28, 2026, revised the withdrawal limit for Aadhaar-authenticated paperless transactions under the Post Office Savings Bank (POSB) framework. Earlier, under SB Order No. 01/2025, no withdrawal form or voucher was required only for Aadhaar-authenticated withdrawals up to ₹5,000, while deposit transactions were fully exempt from voucher requirements irrespective of amount. The revised order increases the paperless withdrawal limit from ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 for transactions carried out through Aadhaar Authentication basis (e-KYC). The modification also applies to the Standard Operating Procedure annexed with the earlier order, while all other operational provisions remain unchanged. The decision reflects the Government’s continued push toward digital, paperless, and Aadhaar-enabled banking services in post offices. Authorities have directed all postal circles and offices to circulate the revised instructions widely and display them prominently for public awareness and operational guidance.
