Public Notice No. 1(RE-2000), issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on 31st March 2000, updates the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1) under the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002. Exercising powers under paragraph 4.11 of the policy, the Director General of Foreign Trade has released the revised edition of the Handbook, effective from 1st April 2000. This updated Handbook aims to provide comprehensive guidance for implementing the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, ensuring stakeholders have clear procedural frameworks for trade operations. The notification was issued in the public interest and included administrative directives for its enforcement.

In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part-II- Section 3 – Sub- section (ii) vide S.O No. 283(E) dated 31.3.97, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby notifies the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1) (Revised Edition-March,2000) as contained in Annexure to this Public Notice. This shall come into force from 1st April, 2000.
