Public Notice No. 3/2004-09, issued on 14.09.2004 by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, brings amendments to the “Schedule of DEPB Rates” under various product groups. The notice revokes the enhanced value cap of Rs. 155 per kg on engineering products and restores the earlier value cap of Rs. 135 per kg. It also revises DEPB rates and descriptions for several products, including slitting cutters, zinc ingots, and various chemicals. Notably, new entries like Lead concentrate and vaporizer made of aluminum are added, with specific DEPB rates and value caps. The chemicals product group sees changes such as the replacement of a DEPB entry for M.G. Poster Paper and the introduction of new items like Glibenclamide BP-88 and Salbutamol inhalers. Additionally, updates to the plastics, electronics, and textiles product groups are included, such as changes to product descriptions and the imposition of a Rs. 300 value cap on textiles. These amendments aim to adjust and streamline export regulations.

In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09 and Paragraph 1.1 of the Handbook of procedures (Vol.I), the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following addition/ corrections/amendment etc. in the Book titled “Schedule of DEPB rates”:-
I Product Group: Engineering Product Code: 61
i) The value cap of Rs.155/- per kg enhanced vide Public Notice No. 67 dated 21.6.2004 against entries at Sr.No. 353 and 354 is revoked with effect from 21.6.2004 and the old value cap of Rs.135/- per kg is restored.
ii) The description of the export item at Sr.No. 409 is amended to read as “Slitting Cutters made of Steel variety – X”
iii) The DEPB rate of Sr.No. 413 is revised to 6% .
iv) The following new entries are inserted:

ii) The description of export item against entry at Sr.No. 17 is amended to read as
“ Colour Monitors /CRT Display Monitors (Colour)”
iii) The description of export item against entry at Sr.No. 70 is amended to read as “ TV Glass Bulbs/ Shells/Glass Parts for TV Picture Tubes”
V Product Group: Textiles Product Code: 89
The value cap of Rs.300/- per Piece is imposed against entry at Sr.No. 60
