DGFT Notification No. 22/2002-07, dated 09.01.2003, amends the Export and Import Policy 2002-07 under the powers granted by the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992. The amendments focus on two key areas. Firstly, Paragraph 2.21, which governs imports on an export basis, allows for the import of new or second-hand capital goods, equipment, components, accessories, and other specified items without the need for a license, provided they are freely exportable and meet the required conditions under ITC (HS) Schedule II. Secondly, Paragraph 2.36, which deals with the export of imported goods, allows goods, including restricted items (except prohibited ones), to be imported under Customs Bond for export in convertible currency, also without a license, as long as the goods are freely exportable. These changes aim to simplify the process for exporters and facilitate trade by reducing licensing requirements for certain goods.
