FULL TEXT OF THE SUPREME COURT JUDGMENT/ORDER

Heard Mr. Karan Bharihoke, learned Advocate for State of Punjab and Mr. Jagmohan Bansal, learned counsel for the respondent on caveat.

Considering the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case on record, in our view, the ends of justice would be met if the respondent is directed to deposit a further sum of Rs. 5 crores within four weeks from today.

Ordered accordingly.

It is made clear that in case the amount is not deposited within the time stipulated, the appeals pending before the Appellate Authority shall stand dismissed.

In case the money is deposited within the time stipulated, the Appellate Authority shall make endeavour to dispose of the appeals as early as possible and preferably within four weeks of the deposit of the money.

With the aforesaid observations, the Special Leave Petitions are disposed of.

Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of.
