What every genuine philosopher (every genuine man, in fact) desires most is acclaim– although the philosophers generally call it ‘recognition’!
– William James
Pertinently quoted that Appreciate everything that you and your comrades do for the professional. Nothing else can quite substitute for a few well-chosen, well-timed, sincere words of acclaim. They’re absolutely free and worth a fortune. For the profession of Company Secretaries, the real day for paving the way towards real admiration, recognition and credit was June 15 in 1988, wherein the Company Secretaries in Practice were accorded recognition for Certifying the Annual Returns under the erstwhile Companies Act, 1956.
In last, 29 years of this historic day, the professional commune is persistently coming forward while establishing their expertise and specialization in varied areas of compliance and governance. With the significant role, company secretaries are playing as the dedicated governance professionals, it would appropriate to mention that with transforming India, role of Company Secretaries has also be transformed in setting the advanced parameters of effective and justifiable governance throughout the nation.
Keeping the sanctity of June 15 as a historic day for the profession intact with professional excellence and dedication, Institute has initiated to celebrate June 15 as PCS Day pan India. This year, when the Institute marks the beginning of its Golden Jubilee Year, celebration of this day has become immensely significant owing to cutting edge transformation in the regulatory regime of the country and the role company secretaries are playing as thought leaders in leading India towards the regime of Sustainable Governance.
To rejoice this day, the Institute is organizing various programs throughout the country, through its Regional Councils, Chapters and CCGRT covering deliberations on awareness on recognitions for PCS, emerging areas of practice and the significant role of PCS in the vision New Age India, 2022.
I request all the members of professional commune to participate in these programs at length and breadth.
Let’s celebrate this day with enthusiasm and vigor to serve the national with our professional excellence in governance and compliance.
