yes, there is no need to extend the dates and those not completing the requirement should not be eligible to a member. The extension has set a bad example for the ICAI.
What was the necessity to extend the date upto 31/03/2014 ? Those members were unable to complete the CPE hours requirements in block period of three years ( 2011,2012,2013 – I.E. 01/01/2011 to 31/12/2013 ) the prescribed minimum is nothing . In case members in practice aged above 60 years is 70 CPE hrs credit , and members in service is 45 cpe hrs ( in block period of three years ) Members can complete with in the dates . In former case with out considering Unstructured learning activities is 70/ 3= 23.33 hrs in 365 days . if any member take seriously he /she need to attained avg. 23.33/12 months=1.94 hrs in a month. in the second case 45 hrs / 3 years = 15 hrs in a year , avg. 15/12 month= 1.25 hrs in an a month.when members are unable to complied with the requirements they should not allowed to be a members , where continuously need one to update. The extension till 31/03/2014 has set a bad example for the ICAI.
Members are not serious to attend CPE meeting, besides not consulted ICAI books and publications and also not visited various sites besides ICAI sites
