Important decisions taken by the Council of the ICSI at its meeting held on 29th June, 2020 & 13th July, 2020.

1. Granting One More Attempt to Executive Progrmme (2012 old Syllabus) and Professional Programme (2012 Old Syllabus) Students in December, 2020 Session of Examinations.

The Council approved to grant one more attempt to Executive Programme (2012 old syllabus) and Professional Programme (2012 old syllabus) students in December, 2020 session of Examination.

2. Granting benefits to the students belonging to the Physically Challenged/ Disabled Category while appearing in CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET).

The Council approved the following:

(a) The applicability of guidelines for “Grant of Scribe and/or Extra Time to Physically Disabled/Challenged Candidates in Company Secretaries Foundation/Executive/Professional Programme Examinations” be extended to the Physically Disabled/Challenged Candidates of CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) also.

(b) Candidates with visual and hearing impairment as defined under the Clause B and C of the Schedule attached with The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 be exempted from Viva Voce.

3. Conducting free online crash course for students enrolled for June, 2020 exam session.

The Council approved to conduct free online crash course for students enrolled for June, 2020 exam session.

4. Extension in the period of compulsory switchover of training (as prescribed under The Company Secretaries (Amendment) Regulations, 2020.

The Council decided to recommend the proposal of extension of period for compulsory switchover of training (as prescribed under The Company Secretaries (Amendment) Regulations, 2020 for another period for six months (i.e. upto 02nd February, 2021) to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for consideration and approval.

5. Extension of time for obtaining the mandatory PCH for the block year ended 31st March, 2020 till 30th September, 2020.

The Council approved, further extension for the period upto 30th September, 2020 for the members for completing the shortfall in the PCH, which ought to have been obtained by 31st March, 2020

6. Amendment in UDIN Guidelines

The Council has further amended the ICSI (UDIN Guidelines), 2019 and approved the same.

7. ICSI (Specialised and Advanced Courses and Examination) Guidelines, 2020.

The Council approved the ICSI (Specialised and Advanced Courses and Examination) Guidelines, 2020.

8. Launching new PMQ / Specialised and Advance courses.

The Council approved the Launching of following Courses on:-

(i)  Arbitration

(ii) Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR)

(iii) Internal Audit

(iv) Labour Laws

9. Launch new Certificate Courses.

The Council approved the Launching of following Certificate Courses:-:

(i) Certificate Course on POSH

(ii) Certificate Course on Forensic Audit

(iii) Certificate Course on RERA

(iv) Certificate Course on Cyber Security

(v) Certificate Course on MSME

(vi) Certificate Course on FEMA

(vii) Certificate Course on GST

(viii) Certificate Course on Independent Director

(ix) Certificate Course in International Taxation

(x) Certificate Course in International Trade

(xi) Certificate Course on Start-up

10. The proposal of conduct of 15 days E-EDP before 15 days classroom EDP which may be completed by students within 6 months of starting their long term training of 21 months under The Company Secretaries (Amendment) Regulations, 2020.

The Council decided to recommend the proposal for conducting 15 day E-EDP before the 15 day class room EDP and that one time opportunity to the students to undergo 15 day class room EDP within six months of starting their long term training of 21 months under The Company Secretaries (Amendment) Regulations, 2020 to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for consideration and approval of the same.
