Adani Enterprises Limited acquired a total of 64.7% stake in news media company NDTV in 2022 through a series of transactions. However, this takeover has its roots in a series of corporate loans availed before 2010 from different entities by NDTV’s Promoter Company, RRPR Holdings Private Limited, to buy back a large chunk of NDTV’s shares from the open market and to pay back the existing loan obligation taken from banks.
