The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued Public Notice No. 28/2025-2026, dated October 23, 2025, amending Para 4.84(b) of the Handbook of Procedures (HBP), 2023, concerning the Export Obligation (EO) period under the Advance Authorisation (AA) Scheme. The amendment removes a provision that allowed AA holders to import gold for replenishment after completing exports, while retaining the core EO period requirements. Under the amended procedure, the general EO period remains 120 days from the date of import for each consignment. However, for findings and mountings made of gold, platinum, or silver used for the export of jewellery, the EO period is extended to 180 days from the date of import. Critically, no further extension in this EO period will be permitted. This change was introduced to ensure the procedure in the HBP aligns consistently with Para 4.36(a) of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), 2023.
