The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), as a member of IFAC, plays a significant role in advocating for high-quality global accountancy education through its participation in IPAE. IPAE, in its capacity as a strategic advisor to IFAC, recommends revisions to International Education Standards (IESs). Recently, IPAE issued an Exposure Draft proposing revisions to IES 2, 3, and 4 on Sustainability, soliciting feedback from stakeholders across IFAC Member Bodies, including ICAI. Stakeholders are encouraged to submit their comments on the Exposure Draft by 10th July, 2024, to influence the future alignment of accountancy education standards with sustainability goals. Subject: Exposure Draft on Proposed Revisions to ‘IES 2, 3, and 4 – Sustainability’ – For Public Comments

ICAI being a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) represents in the International Panel of Accountancy Education (IPAE). IPAE acts as a strategic advisor for IFAC’s accountancy education work plan and advocates for high-quality accountancy education globally. It recommends International Education Standards (IESs) and their revisions to IFAC. As an IFAC Member Body, ICAI considers these IESs for developing its entry level requirements, Chartered Accountancy Course Curriculum including practical training requirements and its assessment.

Recently, IPAE has released ‘Exposure Drafts on Proposed Revisions to IES 2, 3, and 4 – Sustainability,’ seeking public comments from various stakeholders across the IFAC Member Bodies. Accordingly, inputs/comments are sought from all the stakeholders of ICAI on the Exposure Draft issued by IPAE latest by 10th July, 2024.
