Applicability:-

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on Tuesday notified that GST e-invoicing will be mandatory for any firm whose turnover exceeds Rs 100 crore from January 1, 2021. The limit set earlier was a turnover of Rs 500 crore.

For generation of e invoice:-

Step:-1 Login to Portal   https://einvoice1.gst.gov.in/Home/MainMenu

Step:-2 After that click on Help→Tools→Bulk Generation Tools.

Step:-3 After that in Right side 4 utility will be reflected,as below

e-Invoice Bulk Generation Tool is available in 4 formats:

These formats can be used based on the requirements of the invoice.

Format A : This format consists of a single worksheet in which invoice and items details can be entered. Businesses having 1 or 2 items in the invoice can use this format.  This format is advisable for invoices largely with B2B transactions. The seller GSTIN details are entered in the Profile as a one time entry.   As the item details are entered in the same worksheet, it is to be ensured that the same invoice details  repeat for all the items of the invoice.

Format B: This format consists of a two worksheets in which invoice and items  details  can be entered separately.   This format is advisable for the businesses having many items in the invoice.  As the item details are entered in different  worksheet,  ensure that every item will be referenced with Document number, Document type and document date of the invoice. The other information such as Export details can be entered in the Invoice sheet. If  e-waybill needs to be generated , the part-B details can be entered in the Invoice sheet.

Format  C: This format consists of a five worksheets in which invoice details, items  details, payment details, reference details and additional details  can be entered separately.   This format is advisable for the businesses having many items in the invoice , payment details and reference details etc.  As the item details are entered in different  worksheet,  ensure that every item will be referenced with Document number, Document type and document date of the invoice. The other information such as Export details can be entered in the Invoice sheet. If  e-waybill needs to be generated , the part-B details can be entered in the Invoice sheet.

Format  D: This format consists of a single worksheet  in which invoice details, items  details, payment details, reference details and additional details  can be entered in the same sheet.   This format is advisable for the businesses having many items in the invoice , payment details and reference details etc. As the item details are entered in same worksheet,  ensure that every item will be referenced with Document number, Document type and document date of the invoice. The other information such as Export details can be entered in the Invoice sheet. If  e-waybill needs to be generated , the part-B details can be entered in the Invoice sheet.

Step:-4 After downloading the utility as per your requirement,You have to open the sheet and fill the profile sheet of the JSON File.

Fill the profile and select Yes and No in the Option as per applicability on the company.

Step-:5 Then come on the E Invoice sheet of the JSON File

Step:-6 Then validate the file,if some error show resolve them and Validate the file.

Step:-7 Once sheet get validate ,click on prepare JSON.

Step:-8 JSON file will be generate, keep in mind the path where it will save.

All these are the procedure of generation of JSON File offline for E Invoice.

Now point is how to generate E Invoice after preparation of Json File.

Simply registered yourself on above mentioned E Invoice site.

Then login and click on

  • E Invoice
  • Then Click on Bulk Uploads
  • Upload the generated JSON File
  • Then Click on uploads
  • Then acknowledgement no will be show on window ,noted it down.
  • For print of E Invoice click on print option show in e invoice option.
  • Fill the Acknowledgement No and then submit.
  • Your E Invoice is ready.

    Thank you for the information. According to me, you have taken snap shots of utility for trial e invoice website. The utility at official e-invoice website is different. Can you please recheck and solve my query.
