On February 11, 2005, the Government of India issued Public Notice No. 52/2004-2009, amending the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. I) under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009. The notice added specific Special Economic Zones (SEZs) as designated ports for imports and exports. The SEZs included in the amendment were Santacruz, Kandla, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam, Chennai, FALTA, Surat, and NOIDA. This change aimed to expand the list of specified ports, facilitating trade and promoting economic activities within these zones. The update was made in the public interest to streamline trade processes and enhance the accessibility of SEZs for import-export operations.

PUBLIC NOTICE NO.52 /2004-2009

Dated: 11th February, 2005

In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-2009, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. I):-

1. In Para 4.19, the following addition shall be made:

“The following SEZs shall also be one of the specified ports for import and export under this paragraph:

SEZ Santacruz, Kandla, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam, Chennai, FALTA, Surat, NOIDA”
