Govt extends concessional duty on Yellow Peas till 31st May, 2025

Govt amends Notification 64/2023-Customs to extend concessional duty on Yellow Peas till 31st May, 2025 vide Notification No. 17/2025-Customs Dated: 7th March, 2025.

Ministry of Finance, through Notification No. 17/2025-Customs dated March 7, 2025, has extended the validity of a previous customs notification. This amendment pertains to Notification No. 64/2023-Customs, originally issued on December 7, 2023. The notification, which was set to expire on February 28, 2025, has now been extended until May 31, 2025. The amendment is enforced under Section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962, and Section 124 of the Finance Act, 2021, with immediate effect.

G.S.R. 165(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) read with section 124 of the Finance Act, 2021 (13 of 2021), the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 64/2023-Customs, dated the 7^th December, 2023, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub­section (i), vide number G.S.R. 884(E)., dated the 7^th December, 2023, namely:-

In the said notification, in the Table, against S. No. 1, in Column (4), for the words and figures “28^th day of February, 2025”, the words and figures “31^st day of May, 2025” shall be substituted.

2. This notification shall come into force with immediate effect.
