On May 1, 1998, the Government of India issued Public Notice No. 10 (RE-98)/1997-2002 regarding the Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) Scheme. The notice, issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade, outlines the credit rates applicable under the DEPB scheme for shipments made between April 1, 1997, and April 14, 1998, as detailed in Annexure A. Additionally, credit rates for exports made from April 15, 1998, are specified in Annexure B, which will be incorporated into Appendix 28A. Corrections related to previous public notices will take effect from the same date.

NEW DELHI: the 1st May, 1998
Subject: DEPB Scheme
In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India Extraordinary, Part-II- Section 3 – Sub- section (ii) vide S.O No. 283(E) dated 31.3.97, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby notifies the credit rates under DEPB scheme in respect of items as given in the Annexure A to this Public Notice. The rates notified under Annexure A shall cover the shipments made from 1.4.97 to 14.4.98.
The rates notified in Annexure B to this Public Notice will form part of Appendix 28A and shall cover the exports made from 15.4.98.
The corrigendum to the Public Notice No. 4 (RE-98)/1997-2002 and Public Notice No. 6(RE-98)1997-2002 dated 15.4.98 shall be effective from 15.4.98.
