For timely promotions, adhering to the time schedule of reporting, reviewing & submission of APARs is a MUST
As you already know:
i. The request to hold ACITs’ DPCs for FYs 10-11 & 11-12 for 204 vacancies was moved to UPSC on 15.03.11;
ii. The request to hold CCITs’ DPC for 46 vacancies for the FY 11-12 was moved to UPSC on April 7 2011.
The request for CITs’ DPCs for 84 vacancies for the FYs 10-11 & 11-12 would be moved to UPSC in the next week.
You all have seen, how difficult it was for the CBDT to collect ACRs / APARs of officers to be able to move the DPCs’ requests to the UPSC.
If the Cadre wants that CBDT hereafter adheres to the DOPT / UPSC calendar to have the advance promotions panel ready before the close of the year, it is necessary that each one of us immediately submits his Self Appraisal in the new format APAR, the Reporting Officer reports quickly & sends it to the Reviewing Officer, the Reviewing Officer reviews it promptly & submits it to the CCIT (CCA) of his region.
Special appeal is made to our colleagues on deputation to ensure that the above time schedule is adhered to.
The Cadre Controlling Chief Commissioners are advised to ensure that all the APARs, complete in all respects, reach the CBDT on or before May 31, 2011.
