Bankers may meet RBI on 14th to discuss relaxation in lending norms

Relaxation in the norms relating to infrastructure lending and 70 per cent loan loss coverage ratio are likely to top the agenda when bankers meet Reserve Bank of India on January 14, ahead of the quarterly policy review. “Banks will press their demand to relax the norms on infrastructure lending. They may also ask for some easing in the guidelines announced for banks to augment their loan loss coverage ratio to 70 per cent,” Indian Banks’ Association chief executive, K Ramakrishnan told PTI in Mumbai.

Various kind of meetings are conducted in a Company as required under the provisions of Companies Act, 1956 and other corporate regulations, and it is also not a difficult issue to deal with the various kinds of meetings too. A new Company may have to conduct a statutory meeting and every company may have conduct Board Meetings, Annual General Body Meeting and Extraordinary General Body Meeting. Besides these meetings as specifically referred to in the Companies Act, 1956, a Company may have to conduct meetings upon the orders of Company Law Board and the Company Court at times.

In order to increase transparency in the financial statements of banks, Reserve Bank of India has from time to time issued circulars to banks requiring disclosures in the ‘Notes to Accounts’ to their Balance Sheet. These instructions were consolidated in the Master Circular No.DBOD.BP.BC.NO.22/21.04.018/2009-10 dated July 1, 2009.

Union Budget may be presented in Lok Sabha on 27th February

After a gap of more than a decade, the union Budget may be presented in the Lok Sabha on Saturday which happens to be February 27. “In view of holidays for three consecutive days from February 26 onwards, we can have it (Budget presentation) on February 27,” Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal told PTI.

SEBI circular on PAN requirement for transmission of shares in physical form

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) vide circular ref. no. MRD/DoP/Cir-05/2007 dated April 27, 2007 made PAN mandatory for all securities market transactions. Thereafter, vide circular no. MRD/DoP/ Cir-05/2009 dated May 20, 2009 it was clarified that for securities market transactions and off-market/ private transactions involving transfer of shares in physical form of listed companies, it shall be mandatory for the transferee(s) to furnish copy of PAN card to the Company/ RTAs for registration of such transfer of shares.

SEBI circular on Internal Audit for Credit Rating Agencies

It is clarified that for the half-year October 2009 – March 2010, the CRA shall receive the report of the internal audit by May 31, 2010. Its Board of Directors shall consider the report and take appropriate measures to rectify the deficiencies and the CRA shall send the Action Taken Report to SEBI by July 31, 2010.

The framework for SLB was specified vide circular no. MRD/DoP/SE/Dep/ Cir- 14/2007 dated December 20, 2007 and was operationalised with effect from April21, 2008. The SLB framework was revised vide circular no. MRD/DoP/SE/Cir-31/2008 dated October 31, 2008. The leading association of brokers, Association of National Exchanges Members of India (ANMI), has made a last ditch attempt to stick to the current timings.
