MCA extends due date for filing Financial Statement & Annual Return

It has been further decided that no additional fees shall be levied upto 15.03.2022 for the filing of e-forms AOC-4, AOC-4 (CFS), AOC-4 XBRL, AOC-4 Non-XBRL and upto 31.03.2022 for filing of e-forms MGT-7/MGT-7A in respect of the financial year ended on 31.03.2021 respectively. During the said period, only normal fees shall be payable for the filing of the aforementioned e-forms.

Trading features pertaining to the Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) segment

Voluntary Retention Route for FPIs investment in Debt

The Reserve Bank, in consultation with the Government of India and Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), introduces a separate channel, called the ‘Voluntary Retention Route’ (VRR), to enable FPIs to invest in debt markets in India. Broadly, investments through the Route will be free of the macro-prudential and other regulatory norms applicable to FPI investments in debt markets, provided FPIs voluntarily commit to retain a required minimum percentage of their investments in India for a period. Participation through this Route will be entirely voluntary.

Clarification on Most-Favoured-Nation clause in Protocol to India’s DTAAs

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has received representations seeking clarity on the applicability of the MFN clause (particularly to dividend withholding rates) available in the Protocol to some of the DTAAs with OECD member States. India’s DTAAs with countries, namely Slovenia, Colombia and Lithuania, provide for lower rate of source taxation with respect to certain items of income. However, these States were not members of the OECD at the time of the conclusion of their DTAAs with India and have become members of the OECD thereafter.
